Kooperation Phytopharmaka - Introduction

The Kooperation Phytopharmaka was founded in 1982 and is a "Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts" (private company under civic law) with scientific tasks. It was founded by the four organisations: The scientific advisory board, acting as managing partner, consists of 12 members representing the above-mentioned organisations.

 

The Activities of the Kooperation Phytopharmaka

Working Group "Efficacy"
Deals with scientific data concerning efficacy, safety, quality, toxicology and clinic. Since of its conception, the Kooperation has till now worked on 255 drugs.

Working Group "Interactions"
Investigation and critical evaluation of suspected cases concerning individual drugs (herbal medicinal products - HMP).

Working Group "Package Leaflets"
Preparation of text proposals (in cooperation with the German Federal Institute for Drugs - BfArM) for package leaflets, professional and background information, in particular as regards warnings / wrong application and overdosage.

Working Group "Dosage in Children"
Preparation and publication of empirical data on investigations on the dosage of selected herbal medicinal products (HMP) in children.

Working Group "Botanicals & Safety"
This working group discusses intensively the use of plants with positive effects on humans and considers safety aspects. The data can be used as a scientific assessment base for food supplements. In this context, a detailled compilation of current scientific literature on "trend plants" among food supplements has been prepared.

Working Group "Quality/Biopharmacy"
Deals with current questions concerning pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical quality of herbal active substances and HMPs.
